Biography

Marjorie G. Zauderer, MD, MS, FACP, FASCO is a nationally recognized medical oncologist and the Director of the WMCHealth Cancer Center, where she leads comprehensive, patient‑centered cancer care and ensures patients have access to the most advanced treatments close to home. She is also Chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology and a Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College.


Dr. Zauderer is an international leader in the treatment of mesothelioma and a recognized expert in lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. She has devoted her career to caring for patients with complex and rare cancers, with a particular focus on diseases that require highly specialized, multidisciplinary care. She most recently served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, helping guide national research priorities, patient advocacy, and standards of care.


In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zauderer is a federally funded clinical and translational researcher, with grant support from the National Cancer Institute and the U.S. Department of Defense. Her research focuses on precision medicine, immunotherapy, and novel targeted and cellular therapies for mesothelioma and lung cancer. She has led and collaborated on multiple landmark clinical trials that have helped change how thoracic cancers are treated worldwide.


Dr. Zauderer received her undergraduate and graduate education at Yale University, earned her medical degree from Columbia University, and completed her fellowship training in hematology and medical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she later held senior leadership roles and helped lead one of the world’s premier thoracic oncology and mesothelioma programs.
