Dr. Santarelli is a board certified neurosurgeon specializing in cerebrovascular disease. He has training and expertise in the surgical management of stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
Dr. Santarelli graduated from Yale University and Stanford Medical School. At Stanford, he also completed residency in neurosurgery and fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery. He practiced neurosurgery for three years at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA. He has been at Westchester Medical Center for more than a decade and performs 400 minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures annually.
Dr. Santarelli speaks English, Spanish and German. He empowers and educates his patients to play a fundamental part in the decision-making process. His research interests include outcome studies and new device technology.
