Shab Benz received her Masters of Health Science Degree in Physician Assistant from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. She is a licensed physician assistant in both New York and New Jersey and holds certifications from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and the American Heart Association's ACLS and BLS/CPR programs.
Ms. Benz has a rich clinical background in both private practice and hospital settings. Her experience includes cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, OB/GYN, pediatrics, primary care, gastroenterology and surgery. Prior to Metropolitan Cardiology Consultants, she was a physician assistant at a private cardiology practice in New Brunswick, NJ.
As Metropolitan Cardiology Consultant's physician assistant, Ms. Benz's responsibilities include daily rounds with patients, critical care unit rounds, hospital and cardiac catheterization lab admissions and discharges, stress testing and more. She has daily contact with our patients and staff and plays a vital role in the care we deliver.
