Jeffrey E. Vergales, MD

Dr. Jeff Vergales is a pediatric cardiologist, clinical innovator, and healthcare leader with expertise in congenital heart disease, digital health, and quality improvement. He has recently been appointed as the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Director of the Children’s Heart Center at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital/Westchester Medical Center and Boston Children’s Health Physicians. Dr. Vergales is nationally recognized for developing digital remote patient monitoring platforms, now utilized in more than 40 children’s hospitals across the country to improve outcomes for high-risk pediatric patients across all disciplines. His academic work focuses on single ventricle heart disease, digital medicine, healthcare delivery innovation, and outcomes research. He currently serves on the executive board of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Cardiology and the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative, and has been honored with multiple teaching, research, and young investigator awards throughout his career. Dr. Vergales earned his MD and MS from the University of Virginia and later completed an MBA at the William & Mary Mason School of Business.
