Erin L. Black, FNP

Erin Black, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in primary care and family medicine. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Binghamton University and is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Erin spent more than 15 years as a registered nurse in intensive and critical care. Her extensive acute-care experience provided a strong foundation in complex disease processes and shaped her approach to primary care, with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and helping patients better understand and manage their health.

During her graduate education at Binghamton University’s Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Erin completed specialized HRSA-funded training in rural primary care and medication treatment for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Her graduate community health work focused on identifying barriers to care and improving connections to healthcare and community resources.

Erin’s clinical interests include preventive and lifestyle medicine, women’s health, rural and community health, substance use disorder treatment, and reducing barriers to healthcare access. She values patient education and shared decision-making and strives to create a collaborative relationship in which patients feel informed and actively involved in their care.

Having spent much of her nursing career caring for patients during serious and complex illness, Erin is particularly passionate about helping patients protect their health before they become critically ill and providing thoughtful, comprehensive care throughout every stage of life.
